What do you wish that everybody knew?
1) No law of nature exists which could oblige you to experience negative emotions. It sounds plain but in reality a sincere realization of this fact can change your life. You are not obliged to experience negative emotions (NEs) and the negative states consisting of them: anger, hatred, self-pity, boredom, offense, jealousy, despondency, irritation, depression and many others. 2) We can manage our perceptions and states, we can select them, we can practice the perceptions engineering. It is possible to learn how to experience less and less negative emotions by eliminating them. 3) You have to understand it clearly what NEs eliminating means: at the moment of the NE’s rising you simply draw your attention from NE and shift it to something pleasant like a sense of beauty from watching the stars, tenderness to a girl you love, anticipation of something interesting and pleasant. A new habit will form gradually, this is a habit to draw attention from NE and to shift it to a pleasant state. Eliminating NE does not eliminate the problems, which caused those NEs. But dealing with a problem without NE is much easier, more pleasant and more effective as your common sense is not blurred with the hatred and depression, and you are not poisoned by them. 4) There are perceptions I like to call “enlightened perceptions” (EPs). Some of them are already listed, such as sense of beauty, anticipation, tenderness, but there is also a sense of mystery, sympathy, serenity, aspiration, perseverance, gratitude, earnestness, sincerity, joy and a lot of other EPs and enlightened states. 5) It is not possible to steadily experience both NEs and EPs at the same time. 6) A habit to experience EPs is getting cultivated the same way we cultivate any other skill: by frequent and persistent efforts. You can learn how to put yourself into an EP, how to recall it into existence and willfully start experiencing it. 7) It is possible to eventually gain a total freedom from NEs.
