What do you wish that everybody knew?
Any time you start to care about a public figure, institution, tribe, slogan, or symbol because they share or represent some value or principle you hold dear, you will start to care less about that value or principle as a result. This isn't really negotiable; it is a brute neurophysiological process: You will start to release dopamine in response to this new signifier and release less and less of it in response to the value or principle alone. There's a real and important sense in which the new signifier *replaces* the old value or principle in your hierarchy of Things That Matter To You. So, you should know that any public figure, institution, tribe, slogan, or symbol asking for your loyalty is implicitly demanding the sacrifice of something currently important to you. Think very carefully about whether they're worth it.
